Apple of my eye.

My little buddy got dressed up this weekend so I could get a few snapshots of him in the beautiful Fall weather. Thought I would share a few shots from his little mini session. He is quite the charmer. :) God has blessed me so much with a wonderful family and its little things like this that remind me of that.

Say you will. :)

So, I havent had a chance to post about my first wedding photography gig. It was so fun!! My sister in law asked if I would take her bridal pictures, engagement photos, and wedding photos for her and her husband, Chris. Let me tell you...photographing weddings is pretty stressful....but I am sucker for weddings. I cry every time. :) It was so neat to get to be the role of the photographer this time. I have been the maid of honor, the bridesmaid, the audience, and of course the bride before..:)...it was quite a different experience having to be the photographer. Having to make sure I capture every important moment that the couple will look back on forever! Talk about pressure! :) Anyways, it was a fun night and I wish many blessings to my sister and her new husband and little family. :) Here are a few shots from the night!

I Love Saturdays!!

Conner was scary marsmallow boy last night. :)

Yesterday, we had a great day. One of my favorite Saturdays.

Last night we decided to roast marshmallows and do a devotional in the backyard. We sat outside for a long time and just shared stories, laughed, and enjoyed our time together. Conner roasted his own marshmallow and then decided that he didnt like the way the marsmallows felt in his mouth when they were roasted. haha. (the picture above was evidence) :)

After our marsmallow time, we got a blanket and layed down to look at the stars. Conner was trying to count them and then realized that it was impossible. Michael told him that even he couldnt count all the stars. Conner layed there thinking and then decided to pray and said, "God, Will you please count the stars for me?" Definitely an "aww" moment. :) And also, a reminder that we can't do things alone..we need His help. things can seem impossible....but we don't have to do it alone. We have God to help us do it if we let Him. :) We even saw three shooting stars! :) (And no we didn't "pretend the airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars"...thats just creepy. :)

I have a song, so let the earth sing along

I have been really sad today. I have heard about so many heartbreaking stories in the past couple of days…my heart just hurts for family and friends around me. My friend from college, Sunday Ibok, suffered from a brain aneurysm on Sunday night. He was pronounced brain dead last night and is currently on life support and in a coma. He is a wonderful guy with so much light in his eyes and so much joy. I also heard today that one of my dad’s best friends was given 10 months (at most) to live, and another friend’s dad is having a heart transplant today. I also have some family members right now with very serious health problems and a recent fear of mine is getting a late night call from Texas.

This reminds me that our time here together is so very precious. Psalm 144:4 says, “Man is like a breath; his days are like a fleeting shadow.“ You never know when someone you love won‘t be there tomorrow. It just makes me want to hug my family tight and never let go.

To those grieving today for different reasons. Pray hard. It’s what is going to get you through. Those days when you think the pain of loss is too hard to handle…Those days when you miss that person so much and you would give anything to be able to pick up your phone and call them. Pray harder and know that others are praying for you too.

Today, I encourage you to focus on the important things in your life. Spend quality time with your loved ones and together take the time to enjoy the little things that we miss so often. Take advantage of the beautiful and precious time that God has given you with them. We let things get in the way of that sometimes.

Be Brave.
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
